Monroe Anderson

Monroe was born about 1837 in Hanover County, Virginia. Monroe's father was Prof. Harrod John Anderson and his mother was Matilda W. Hope. His paternal grandparents were John Anderson and Mary Trevilian; his maternal grandparents were Richard Hope and Frances Terrell. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Dr. Harrod Clopton, Thomas, Edmond, John, Horace Franklin, Virginia Sophia, Mary Frances, Virginia, Harradine, Lucy Ann and Comelia. He was the sixth youngest of the twelve children.
