Mary Trevilian was born on October 24th, 1802 in Hanover County, Virginia. Mary Trevilian's father was John Anderson and her mother was Mary Trevilian. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Anderson and Frances Jones Harrod; her maternal grandmother was Sophia Terry. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Bates, Edmund Monroe, Prof. Harrod John, John Montgomery, Horace Franklin, Sophia Trevilian, Eliza, Frances Virginia and Lucy Ann. She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.-
