Lucy Ann was born on June 20th, 1814 in Hanover County, Virginia. Lucy Ann's father was John Anderson and her mother was Mary Trevilian. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Anderson and Frances Jones Harrod; her maternal grandmother was Sophia Terry. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Bates, Edmund Monroe, Prof. Harrod John, John Montgomery, Horace Franklin, Sophia Trevilian, Eliza, Mary Trevilian and Frances Virginia. She was the youngest of the ten children.-
