Countess of Avesnes was born about 1226 in Hertogenbosch, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands.  Countess of Avesnes' father was V Floris and her mother was Mathilde De Brabant.  Her paternal grandparents were I Willem and Aleid Van Guelders; her maternal grandparents were I Henry and Matilda De Boulogne. She had two brothers and a sister, named II, VI and Countess of Holland.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Countess of Holland.  She died on April 9th, 1283 in Valenciennes, Nord, France.
