‌Mathias and Luranah were married in a religious ceremony on September 17th, 1829 in Pasquotank County,North Carolina.  They had four sons and six daughters, named Miles, Joseph, John A., William R., Lurana, Rebecca, Emily, Mary Margaret, Nancy and Sarah.
