Matilda (Maud) Queen of Portugal was born in 1111.  Matilda (Maud) Queen of Portugal's father was Amadeus (Amadeo) III Count of Savoy Marquis of Maurienne Marquis of and her mother was Matilda (Maud) d'Albon.  Her paternal grandparents were Umberto II 'il Gross' Count of Maurienne and Savoy Marquis o Marquis of and Gisele of Burgundy; her maternal grandparents were Guigues VIII Count d'Albon, Dauphin de Viennois and Mathilda. She had a brother named Humbert (Umberto) III 'the Saint' Count of.  She was the older of the two children.  She died at the age of 46 on December 4th, 1157 in Coimbra,Portugal.1

‌Matilda (Maud) Queen of Portugal and Alfonso I King of Portugal were married in a religious ceremony in 1146.  They had a son and two daughters, named Sancho I Martino King of Portugal, Urraca of Princess of Portugal and Teresa (Matilda).
