Matilda Princess of France was born in 0943 in Laon,Champagne.1   Matilda Princess of France's father was Louis IV 'd'Outremere' King of France and her mother was Gerberge of Princess of Germany Saxony.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles III 'the Simple' King of the West Franks and Edgiva (Eadgifu, Aedgifu) of Princess of England England; her maternal grandparents were Henry I 'the Fowler' Emperor of Germany, Holy Roman Emperor and Mathilda von Ringleheim. She had a brother named Charles of Duke of Lower Lorraine, Prince of France.  She was the older of the two children. She had two half-sisters named Alberade (Aubree) of and Gerberge of.  She was buried in Vienne.1 1
