Elizabeth was born in 1834. Elizabeth's father was Cornelius Wyer and her mother was Elizabeth Malone. Her paternal grandfather was George Wyer; her maternal grandparents were James Malone Sr. and Sarah Findlay. She had six brothers and a sister, named Archibald, John, James Mattison, Benjamin, George, Walter and Sarah.-
