Mary Ellen was born on December 22nd, 1878 in Crawford County,Indiana. Mary Ellen's father was Alonzo Worth Weathers and her mother was Rebecca Ann Sloan. Her paternal grandparents were Vincent Weathers and Elitha Eleander May; her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Neal Sloan and Mary Ann Sands Douthit. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Claude, Arthur Roscoe, Zenora, Iona Elva, Lillian (Lillie) E., Daisy E. and Lula. She was the third oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 86 on January 22nd, 1965 in Marengo,Crawford County,Indiana.-
