Joseph Asa Pierson 
Joseph Asa was born on March 22nd, 1865 in Crawford County,Illinois. Joseph Asa's father was John Moneta Pierson and his mother was Clarissa Sarah Herriman. His paternal grandparents were Shadrach , Jr. Pierson and Jane Eastin; his maternal grandparents were John S. Herriman and Elizabeth F. Gaines. He had five brothers and two sisters, named William Marcus, John Douglas, Elias, Shadrach Reason, Charles Lewis, Harriet Emma and Rosa Belle. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 59 on January 26th, 1925 in Near Carl Junction,Jasper County,Mo. He was buried on January 29th, 1925 in Oak Hill Cemetary,Galena,Kansas.General Notes
