Polly was born in December 1789 in Reddies River,Wilkes County,NC. Polly's father was William McQueary and her mother was Nancy Ann Shepherd. Her paternal grandparents were John Macquarrie and Miranda Stout; her maternal grandparents were Robert Shepherd and Sarah Rash. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Allen, Pleasant, Jesse, William, Humphry, Sarah, Rebeccah and Nancy. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died in prob Newcastle area,Pulaski County,KY.-
