*Murdock was born about 1779 in Ross & Cromarty,Scotland. *Murdock's father was *John McKenzie and his mother was *Elspet Graham. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, John, Katherine and Elspat. He was the oldest of the five children. He died in Scotland.
*Murdock and *Cathrine were married in a religious ceremony in Dryne,Scotland. They had four sons and a daughter, named George, Alexander, Alexander, *Murdock and Christian.
