Mildred (Milly) was born in Orange County VA. Mildred (Milly)'s father was James Isbell and her mother was Frances Tompkins Livingston. Her paternal grandparents were Poss. John Isbell and Elizabeth Livingston; her maternal grandparents were John III Livingston and Margaret Todd. She had a brother and a sister, named Livingston and Elizabeth. Parents of Mildred, James Isbell of King William County VA married Frances Livingston of King and Queen County VA.
Joseph and Mildred lived in Fredericksville Parish, Albermarle County, VA near her father until they moved to Wilkes Co. NC and settled on Beaver Creek where Joseph died. Millie lived her last few years with her daughter, Mary Tyre, and her will dated 25, 2, 1825, left her small personal property to Mary and two of Mary's children, Nancy Camberly Tyre and William Burton Tyre.
‌Mildred (Milly) and Joseph were married in a religious ceremony about 1769. They had five sons and four daughters, named William, James, Perry R., Thomas, Son, Nancy, Mary Elizabeth (Betsey), Mary and Daughter.
