William was born about 1423 in of,Rhaglan,Monmouthshire,England and his baptism took place in {Godwin}.  William's father was William Ap Thomas Alias Herbert Sir and his mother was Gwladus ferch Dafydd.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Ap Gwyllym Sir and Maud Morley. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Richard, Richard "Hir\Ddu" |ap William|, Thomas, Margred |ferch William|, Elsbeth II |ferch William|, Elsbeth I |ferch William|, Mawd |ferch William|, Miss |ferch William| and Jonet |ferch William|. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named John |ap William|, Thomas |ap William|, Gwenllian |ferch William|, Olive |ferch William| and Margaret.  He died on July 27th, 1486 in (beheaded),Banbury,Northamptonshire,England.  He was buried in Tintern Abbey,Chepstow,Monmouthshire,England.
