Roland was born in 1164 in Galloway,Wigtownshire,Scotland. Roland's father was Uctred Galloway Lord of Galloway and his mother was Gunnild Dunbar. He was an only child. He died at the age of 36 in December 1200 in Northamptonshire,England.
