Mathias Cunard 
Mathias was born on March 12th, 1831. Mathias' father was John Cunard and his mother was Comfort Cannon. His paternal grandparents were Edward Cunard and Judith Hirst; his maternal grandparents were Jesse Cannon and Frances Hardesty. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Columbus, John , Jr., Manervia Ann, Frances N., Jumina, Eveline, Mary, Matilda and Nancy. He was the youngest of the ten children. He had four half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Elbert, Newton, Henry, James Clark, Susan A., Eliza Jane, Sarah Ann, Caroline and Marthena.-
