Thomas E Butts 
Thomas E was born in April 1821. Thomas E's father was Thomas Newgent Butts and his mother was Catherine Gaines Broaddus. His maternal grandparents were James Gaines Broaddus and Mary Ann Ferguson. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James M, William Mason, Ellen N, Ann Elizabeth, Martha F, Julia Amanda and Sarah C. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 53 in 1874.
‌Thomas E and Martha were married in a religious ceremony in 1851.
