William Cary 
William was born in 1230 in Castle Cary, Somerset, England. William's father was John de Cary and his mother was Elizabeth Stapleton. His paternal grandparents were Adam de Cary and Amy Trevitt; his maternal grandfather was Sir. Richard Stapleton. He was an only child. He died at the age of 73 in 1303 in Castle Cary, Somerset, England.General Notes
William held the manor of West Polworth, Devon at his death in 31 Edward I. He is also reputed to have held Panston and Cary before 1303.
