John was born on April 10th, 1583 in Bristol, Gloucester, England and his baptism took place on April 10th, 1583 in St. Nicholas, Bristol, Gloucester, England.  John's father was Mayor William Cary and his mother was Elizabeth Goodale.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Cary Elder and Christian Dennis; his maternal grandparents were Robert Goodhall and Elizabeth. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Richard, Nathaniel, Walter, Robert, Thomas, James, William, Anne, Susan and Margery. He had a half-brother named Henry.  He died in All Saints, Bristol, England.  He was buried on February 13th, 1661 in Warwick, Virginia.


John's first family with Elizabeth Hereford

‌John and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on May 24th, 1609 in Bristol, Avon, Gloucester, England.1   They had a son named Thomas.


John's second family with Alice Hobson

‌John and Alice were married in a religious ceremony in 1617 in Church of All Saints,Bristol, England.1   They had five sons and three daughters, named Henry, Matthew, Richard, Miles, Test, Alice, Honor and Mary.
