Simon Basset 
Simon was born about 1235 in Sapcote, Hinckley, Leicestershire, England. Simon's father was Lord Ralph Basset and his mother was Milicent de Chaucombe. His paternal grandfather was Ralph Basset , Lord of Drayton; his maternal grandparents were Robert de Chaucombe and Julian. He had two half-brothers named Ralph 1st Baron and Ralph. He died before September 29th, 1295.General Notes
SIMON BASSET, son and heir. On 28 June 1283 he was summoned to attend the King at Shrewsbury, and on 8 June 1294, he was summoned to attend-the King wherever he might be, by writ directed Simoni Basset.
