Elisha HOOPES 
Elisha was born on October 12th, 1765 in Goshen, Chester Co., PA..1 Elisha's father was Nathan HOOPES and his mother was Ann SPEAKMAN. His paternal grandparents were Nathan HOOPES and Margaret WILLIAMSON; his maternal grandparents were Thomas SPEAKMAN and Elizabeth UNDERWOOD. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named Elijah, Moses, Amor or Emmor, Enos, Lewis, Sidney, Stephen, Susanna, Elizabeth Hannah, Ann, Margaret and Lydia. He was the oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 72 on September 19th, 1838 in New Garden, Columbiana, OH.2 -
