Richard EPPES 
Richard was born in 1715. Richard's father was Francis EPPES IV and his mother was Sarah EPPES. His paternal grandparents were Col. Francis EPPES III and Anne ISHAM. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Francis, William, Martha and Ann. He died at the age of 50 in 1765.General Notes
The will of Sarah Eppes - wife of Francis Eppes IV-mention that she(Sarah Eppes) specifically said that of her two (2) sons - RichardEppes and William Eppes- to name their first born son FRANCIS was toreceive something out of her estate.
The writer of this assumes that Sarah Eppes wanted to continue thename "FRANCIS EPPES" since their first son Francis Eppes V -- diedwithout issue.
The writer of this assumes therefore that either Richard (her secondoldest son?) or William named their first son Francis Eppes. But theyapparently did not name him Francis Eppes VI.
The writer of this thinks, therefore, that LT. COL. FRANCIS EPPES ofRevolutionary War fame was grandson of Francis Eppes IV.The will ofSarah Eppes - wife of Francis Eppes IV-mention that she (Sarah Eppes)specifically said that of her two (2) sons - Richard Eppes and WilliamEppes- to name their first born son FRANCIS was to receive somethingout of her estate.
