John was born in 1218 in OKEHAMPTON, DEVONSHIRE, ENG..1   John's father was Robert DE COURTENAY and his mother was Mary DE REVIERS.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 56 on May 3rd, 1274 in Ford Abby, Devonshire, England.1

They had two sons named Hugh and Hugh.
