Wenceslas Duke of Bohemia 
Wenceslas Duke of was born about 0907. Wenceslas Duke of's father was Vratislav I Duke Of Bohemia and his mother was Drahombira ze Stodor. His paternal grandparents were Borijov I Duke Of Bohemia and Lidmila ze Psova. He had three brothers and a sister, named Vaclav I Duke Of, Spitihnev Prince Of, Boleslav I 'The Cruel' King of and Pribislava Princess Of. He was the second youngest of the five children. Duke of Bohemia (later St. Wenceslas, the patron saint of Bohemia),
appointed King of Bohemia by the Holy Roman Emperor, Otto I., when
Wenceslas's father died in 926. He was born about 907, raised by his
grandmother, Ludimilla, a devout Christian. He was sent to a Christian
college near Prague, and he was through out his life a strong adherent of
Christianity.
He was slain by his brother, Boleslav, for his faith on September 27, 929
(Also reported as 935). This is the "Good King Wenceslas", for whom the
Christmas carol was written.
