Giles was born about 1203 in Castle,Tong,Kent,England.1 Giles' father was Bartholomew Badlesmere and his mother was Bartholomew-Mrs. Badlesmere. His paternal grandparents were Bartholomew Badlesmere and Bartholomew-Mrs Badlesmere. He had three brothers named Guncelin, Ralph and Bartholomew. He was the oldest of the four children.
