Hermann was born about 1132 in <Of,Meissen,Dresden,Saxony>.1 Hermann's father was Konrad Von Rochlitz GROITZSCH and his mother was Luitgard Von RAVENSTEIN. His paternal grandparents were Thiemo I von Wettin and Ida Von Northeim; his maternal grandparents were Albert RAVENSTEIN and Berthe Austria. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Heinrich, Dedo V Von Rochlitz, Otto 'Der Reiche', Margrave of, Dietrich, Heinrich I, Count of, Friedrich I, Count of, Oda, Princess of, Bertha, Princess of, Adela (Adelheid, Edele) Princess of, Gertrude, Sofie, Princess of and Agnes, Princess of.
