JAMES I "The Conqueror" KING was born in Montpellier, Herault, France.1   JAMES I "The Conqueror" KING's father was PEDRO II KING de ARAGON and his mother was MARIE HEIRESS de MONTPELLIER.  His paternal grandparents were ALFONSO II KING de ARAGON and SANCIA (Sancha) INFANTA de CASTILE; his maternal grandparents were WILLIAM VIII SIGNEUR de MONTPELLIER and EUDOXIA (Marie) KOMNENA.  He was an only child.  He died on July 25th, 1276 in Monaserio Cistercio, Algerica, Aragon, Spain.1

‌JAMES I "The Conqueror" KING and YOLANDE were married in a religious ceremony on September 8th, 1235.1   They had three sons and two daughters, named PEDRO III "The Great" KING, James I King de Majorca, Sancho Archbishop de Toledo, ISABELLA and Constance.
