George Lester Youngblood 
George Lester was born on November 25th, 1874 in Pike Co., AL.1 George Lester's father was Thomas Jefferson Youngblood and his mother was Josephine Arthur Jenerett. His paternal grandparents were James Youngblood and Elizabeth Lee; his maternal grandparents were Elias G. Jenerett and Ann Eliza Thomas. He had three brothers and four sisters, named David F., John Bunyan, James Algernon, Laura A., Nora V., Eula May and Arsula Winiford. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. "YOUNGBLOOD BROTHERS was a thriving business enterprise in Pike County in
1902. David F. Youngblood, James A. Youngblood and George L. Youngblood
(sons of Thomas J. Youngblood) were born in Pike County and went to St.
Louis to work for the Pauley Jail Building Company.
After learning the business, they returned to Troy and were very
successful in their chosen line of work. They perfected a portable cage
for prisoners adapted for the use of counties where convicts were worked
on public roads. The cage was fourteen feet long, and three feet six
inches wide, fitting a frame the same as that of a standard wagon. The
cages were in wide use in Alabama.
They opened a branch office in Dallas, Texas. The officers were David
F. Youngblood president, James A. Youngblood vice-president, George L.
Youngblood secretary and treasurer. The Texas company was capitalized at
$100,000. The company made steel cells for jails, iron bridges, ect. The
three borthers resided in Texas."(1)

Brother Of Mrs. McGehee Die In Demopolis
G. Lester Youngblood, age 82, died at his home in Demopolis
Wednesday night after a brief illness. He is survived by his widow. Mrs.
Josphine Elmer Youngblood; One brother, J. A. Youngblood, of Dallas,
Texas ; one sister, Mrs. J. Robert McGehee, of Troy; three nephews, Tom
Carroll, Dr. Joseph Carroll and Robert A. McGhee, all of Troy.
Funeral services will be held Friday a 9 a.m. from Episcopal Church
in Demopolis cemetery with Speigner Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Youngblood is a native of Pike County, having been raised here.
He left here several years ago when a very young man. For a number of
years he was a resident of Dallas, Texas where he was in the construction
business with his brothers. He is the son of the late Mr. Tom Youngblood
and Mrs. Dosie Jinright Youngblood who were prominent Pike Countians.
