Text: We tramped through cemeteries....what once was the "Taylor Burying
Ground" in Columbia, the site later occupied by the Taylor Evangelical
Methodist Church whose builders had moved all the tombstones to a small
area on the property where we found markers for many Taylor ancestors (in
front of the church is a plaque erected by the DAR to the memory of our
great-great-great grandfather Thomas TAYLOR, who was a Colonel in the
Revolution); burial plots on the properties of the First Presbyterian
Church and Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbia where we found ancestors'
graves, including that of our great-grandfather Franklin Harper ELMORE;
and Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia containing markers of our grandparents
William Jesse TAYLOR, Jr. and Mary Susan (ELMORE) TAYLOR, as well as that
of their son, William Jesse TAYLOR,III.
