Minnie Mae was born on May 13th, 1889 in Pike Co., AL.1 Minnie Mae's father was Charles Thomas Spradley and her mother was Ida Lizzie Rushing. Her paternal grandparents were James Stephen Spradley and Julia Boone; her maternal grandparents were John Eager Howard Rushing and Eliza Jane Jenerett. She had a brother and a sister, named Ray Rushton and Maude. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 78 on December 29th, 1967 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., AL. Gertrude P. Parnell via the mail on August 20, 1996.
HARTFORD
CHANCEY, Mrs. Mae S., widow of A. L. Chancey, died Tuesday in a
Birmingham hospital. Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday from Hartford
Baptist Church. Burial was in Hartford City Cemetery, Garden Chapel
Funeral Home of Hartford directing. Survivors include several nieces and
nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to
the Baptist's Children's Home.

MISS MINNIE MAE SPRADLEY ADOLPH CHANCEY'S BRIDE
A marriage which proved a pleasant surprise to many friends was that
of Miss Minnie Mae Spradley, of this city to Mr. Adolphus Chancey, of
Hartford, but formerly, of Troy.
The ceremony occurred at the home of Dr. R. J. Bateman, pastor of the
First Baptist Church, at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Accompanying the contracting parties were Mr. Jim Tom Wilson and Miss
Valetta Rutland, the party motoring to the pastorium in Mr. Wilson's
handsome and luxuriant McFarland car.
Following the ceremony the party enjoyed a pleasant motor trip to the
country, after which dinner was served to the party at the Spradley home
on Montgomery street. Later Mr. and Mrs. Chancey departed via the Coast
Line for thier home at Hartford.
The bride is a charming and accomplished daughter of Tax Assessor and
Mrs. Chas. Spradley, and is a young woman of a congenial disposition
which has won and held for her a large circle of admiring friends. The
groom, a native of this county, and for many years a Trojan, is now a
prosperous and progressive business man of Hartford, Ala.
