John Franklin Spradley 
John Franklin was born on August 13th, 1883 in Sterrett, Shelby Co., AL.1 John Franklin's father was James Bryant Spradley and his mother was Henrietta Lieucya Johnson. His paternal grandparents were John William Spradley and Nancy Blackman. He had six brothers and nine sisters, named Hugh Elgin, William Melvin Bryant, Ellis Harrison, James Dixon, Albert Almouth, Charles, Nancy Lee, Sweeie Henretta, Louisa Josephine, Essie Mae, Bertha Elizabeth, Virginia, Flora, Allie May and Ellie. He was the third oldest of the sixteen children. He died at the age of 63 on February 12th, 1947 in Leeds, Jefferson Co., AL. He was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery.1 1 -
