Alabama Hawkins was born on April 24th, 1854 in AL.1 Alabama Hawkins' father was Samuel Spradley and her mother was Martha Thrower. Her paternal grandparents were Bryant A. Spradley and Frances Payne. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James J., William, Jefferson Davis, Samuel Thomas, Mary Elizabeth M., Martha Jane and Frances Malinda. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 50 on September 19th, 1904 in Petry, Crenshaw Co., AL. She was buried in Petrey Cemetery, Crenshaw Co., AL.1 1 -
