Ola Catherine was born on September 15th, 1890 in Coosa Co., AL.1 Ola Catherine's father was William H. Smith and her mother was Mary Ella Logan. Her paternal grandparents were Patrick, Jr. Smith and Mary N. Palmer; her maternal grandparents were James Alexander Logan and Carrie Angelina White. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Thomas Walter, James Cary, William Leonard, Mary Angie, Ida, Nancy Ruth and Ella Odessa. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 89 on May 18th, 1980 in Goodwater, Coosa, AL.1 General Notes

Remembered fondly by her children as a loving, caring and hardworking
woman. Loved music. Learned to play the guitar - was quite good at
singing country songs and especially good at "yoddling" and dancing. She
quilted many fine quilts, even in advanced age. Talked of traveling, but
never managed to go far from home. Excellent writer. Gracious hostess,
good cook. Very good looking in her youth. Devoted to her son, William
Thurston Beasley.
