James William Sharbutt 
James William was born on January 17th, 1884 in Coosa Co., AL.1 James William's father was Hillery Mathew Sharbutt and his mother was Mary Ann Miller. His paternal grandparents were Wiley James Sharbutt and Susan Cordelia Boring; his maternal grandparents were John McBride, Sr. Miller and Martha Ann Gibson. He had four brothers named John H., Colonel Levi, Grover Cleveland and General. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 79 on March 24th, 1963 in De Leon, Comanche Co., TX. He was buried in De Leon Cemetery, De Leon, Comanche Co., TX.1 1 General Notes

"Uncle Jim was a Methodist Minister in Deleon, Texas and lived there with
his wife Maude until his death in the early 1970's, I think. Uncle Jim
and Aunt Maude had a daughter named Chelsea and a son named Del. Del
Sharbutt was a news announcer on Mutual Radio for many years and hosted
an early TV show
called the Lucky Strike Hit Parade. I think that Del is still alive and
living in Florida. He corresponds with my mother on an infrequent

parents were Hill and Molly Sharbutt. He married Maudie Lee Matlock in
Mount Enterprise, Tx. on July 19, 1905. He was a Methodist Minister in
many churches in Tx. Survivors were daughter, Volva Mae Sharbutt,and son
Delbert Eugene Sharbutt. One child Lovic James Sharbutt died in
infancy...Also a brother, John Sharbutt of Lueders, Tx. I am researching,
and would like to know where his daughter Volva Mae Starbutt was born and
what was her birthdate....she married my Uncle Charley E.Clinger and they
had one daughter before they divorced...and she married a King....Any
help will be appreciated...Geraldine

In reviewing your records, I see a listing for John H. Sharbutt who
according to my records would be the brother to James William Sharbutt
(not listed)...James William Sharbutt was a Methodist Minister according
to the Methodist Archives in Ft. Worth, Tx. His obituary has parents,
Hill and Molly Sharbutt. James W. married Maudie Lee Matlock on July 19,
1905. He was born January 17, 1884 in the state of Alabama and died March
24, 1963 in De Leon, Tx. They are buried in the De Leon City Cemetery,
Comanche Co. Tx. They operated a Dry Cleaning Business in Georgetown, Tx.
while he was attending Southwestern College to get his degrees. They had
the following children...Lovis James Sharbutt (passed away in infancy),
Volva Mae Sharbutt of El Paso, Tx and Delbert Eugene Sharbutt of New York
City....I think Delbert was a war correspondent during WW II and reported
on the radio....I do not know if these children are listed in the right
order....I am interested in finding information about Volva Mae Sharbutt
who married my uncle Charley E. Clinger and then married I think a
King....and she is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso. Tx.....Volva
& Charley had a daughter Charlsie Jo Clinger, Leib, Petsche.....She is
also buried in El Paso. Tx. with her parents....but she has two living
sons....I am trying to find out any information about this family....I
know that Volva was born about l908-10. Would like to know correct date
and where she was born....Any information would be
