C. J. was born about 1835 in GA.¹ C. J.'s father was Anderson Sears and his mother was Martha (?). His paternal grandparents were Joseph S. Sears and Elizabeth Searles. He had five brothers named Owen Turner, Sr., Wesley H., George Washington LaFayette, Anderson H. and William T. J.. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died in ?.¹
