Martha Simon Russell 
Martha Simon was born on September 5th, 1824 in Darlington, South Carolina.1 Martha Simon's father was Simon Russell and her mother was Nancy Love. Her paternal grandparents were Michael Russell and Martha (?). She had five brothers named William James, John M., Isaiah, Samuel Tines and J. Thomas. She was the oldest of the six children. Martha was called Marcy or Marcey. She married Isaac T. Tucker, the son
of Hiram who came to Alabama from South Carolina in 1822 with his brother
Ira Tucker. They settled in what was then a part of Pike County. Shortly
afterwards Simon Russell and his family moved from South Carolina to
Alabama not far from the Tuckers. In 1841 Hiram's son Isaac David Tucker
married Simon's daughter Marcy; and in 1857 Ira's daughter Catherine Jean
Tucker married Simon's son Samuel Tines Russell. The book by Fred Tucker
was mainly about his ancestor, Hiram, and told in detail of the births,
deaths, marriages etc. of his wife and the 15 children she bore him. He
didn't have much to say about Marcy except for the fact that she had four
children before 1850, and they and their families are recorded in full.
Isaac married again in 1869 so Marcy must have died sometime in between
those dates.
‌Martha Simon and Isaac David were married in a religious ceremony on December 1st, 1841 in AL.1
