Marion Alonzo Russell 
Marion Alonzo was born on November 25th, 1856 in Sardis, AL.1 Marion Alonzo's father was John M. Russell and his mother was Caroline Amelia Spradley. His paternal grandparents were Simon Russell and Nancy Love; his maternal grandparents were Warren Charles Spradley and Alcey D. Malone. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Adolph A., James, Flora and Georgian. He was the third oldest of the five children. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named P. Allie, Warren Coley, Adeline and Mary Francis. He died at the age of 83 on July 11th, 1940 in Montgomery, Montgomery Co., AL.1 General Notes

Sometime after Mary Frances died, Alonzo, came to Montgomery and lived
with his children and grandchildren, spending a month here and a month
there.
Bodie was involved in police work in Montgomery, Alonzo lived with
him and his wife, Pearl, the last four years of his life. Alonzo's second
wife was Mrs. Pearl Berrey--that lasted about a year. Alonzo's third wife
was Partie Mamie Crowell. She lived out in the country near Mount Meigs,
had a small acreage and sold vegetables, eggs, etc. at the Montgomery
Curb Market. She eventually divorced him; he was a taker, not a helper.
Alonzo would stay with us 2 months at a time, between wives. He liked to
stand on Kress's corner and watch girls and women go by. It always
aggravated my mother so; she called him 'a dirty old man'. I loved him
dearly; he spent lots of time with me when I was young. Hope this helps.
