Sarah Ann was born on September 17th, 1919 in Coffee Co., AL.1 Sarah Ann's father was John MacDonald Rushing and her mother was Missouri Ann Cook. Her paternal grandparents were Mathew M. (Mack) Rushing and Sarah Jane Amerson; her maternal grandparents were John F. Cook and Ann Miller. She had four brothers and three sisters, named George W., Edlow, Alto P., Alvie Roscoe, Lillie Mae, Mary Alice and Onvie Marion. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Ronald Hubbard, Grover Cleveland, Rufus Sanders, Cecil Walter, Mamie Eudora, Claudie Bell and Pearlie.-
