Solomon Joseph was born in 1864.1 Solomon Joseph's father was Richard E. Park and his mother was Martha Anne Douglas. His maternal grandparents were Silas Douglas and Mary Harrington. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Richard E., Jr., Ney Pickett, Ada Leonora and Celeste. He was the third oldest of the five children. He had four half-brothers named Silas Atlas, Frederick A., John Carson and Charles Avent.-
