Thomas McEwen 
Thomas was born in 1730 in PA.1 Thomas' father was John, Jr. McEwen and his mother was Margaret Barnett. His paternal grandfather was John McEwen. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John III, Hugh, Richard, David, Mary, Elizabeth and Margaret. He died at the age of 63 in July 1793 in Mecklenburg Co. N.C..1 General Notes

Thomas McEwen arrived in North Carolina 25 Mar 1752. He received a grant
of 640 acres on Rocky River and Coddle Creek, what is now Mecklenburg
Co., NC. He sold 240 acres to Hugh McEwen, a brother. It appears that he
had one son, Alexander McEwen. Two other McEwen families shortly
thereafter; relationship unknown. There were other McEwen families,
probably related, that arrived later from Scotland.

Thomas and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony in 1766 in Rowan Co. N.C..1 They had a son and two daughters, named Thomas, Jr., Frances and Ruth.
