John Henry, Sr. was born on February 15th, 1852 in Coosa Co., AL.1 John Henry, Sr.'s father was H. Alexander Logan and his mother was Malinda Atchley. His paternal grandparents were James Ellis M. Logan and Mary (?); his maternal grandparents were Abraham, Jr. Atchley and Eliza Ann Styres. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William Lyons Yancy, Joseph Atison, Neal Archibald, Jefferson Alabama, Henry Alexander, Sarah Isabella, Malinda Francis and Tabitha Ann. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children. He had two half-brothers and five half-sisters, named John Arron, James Alexander, Elizabeth Jane, Mary, Nancy, Martha Ann and Elvonea V.. He died at the age of 46 on November 27th, 1898 in Chilton Co., AL. He was buried in Poplar Springs Baptist Church:, Clanton, Chilton Co., AL.1 1 -
