James Alfred Jordan 
James Alfred was born on January 23rd, 1822 in Wetumpka, Montgomery Co., AL.1 James Alfred's father was Reuben Elmore Jordan and his mother was Emily Dillard. His paternal grandparents were Jonas Jordan and Elizabeth Elmore; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Dillard and Anne Hutchings. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Samuel W., John Archer, Andrew J., Thomas A., Elizabeth, Lucinda P., Elizabeth S., Sarah Ann, Frances and Mary Emily. He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Reuben Elmore, Elmira Sophia, Charlotte Pocohontas and Alabama Rebecca. He died at the age of 51 on March 26th, 1873 in Rockwall, TX.1 -
