Brewer was born in Coosa Co., AL.1 Brewer's father was James Alfred Jordan and his mother was Annie Brewer. His paternal grandparents were Reuben Elmore Jordan and Emily Dillard; his maternal grandfather was Rev. A. G. Brewer. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, William, Archibald, Charles, John, Kate, Ora and Sallie. He had three half-brothers named Reuben, James and Thomas Knox. He died in ?.1 -
