Ethel was born about 1897 in AL.¹   Ethel's father was Robert Green Johnston and her mother was Mary Jane Colley.  Her maternal grandfather was J. O. Colley. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Robert Houston, John W., Ezra Grady, Atrell, Mammie and Doris.  She died in ?.¹
