Effie Pearl was born on July 4th, 1879 in Montgomery Co., AL.1 Effie Pearl's father was David Morgan Huffman and her mother was Emily Jane Jackson. Her paternal grandparents were David Huffman and Martha Sally Rambo; her maternal grandparents were John Jackson and Temperance Ann Henry. She had seven brothers and five sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named William Dansler, John David, James A., Thomas Allen, Joseph Elvin, Elbert Ether, Q. Z., Martha Temperance, Mary Ellen, Emily Esther, Ines Edith, Henrietta Bernice and Baby. She was the sixth youngest of the fourteen children.
