Levi Thomas was born in 1832 in AL.1 Levi Thomas' father was Jesse, Sr. Harrell and his mother was Rosannah Rushing. His maternal grandparents were Mathew Malachi Rushing and Elizabeth Thornhill. He had ten brothers and four sisters, named Matthew E., Abraham Cook, John Pleasant, Solomon R., Eli, Jesse William, Jr., George E., Samuel W., Lewis Jackson, Francis Marion, Phebe E., Rosannah, Emeliza and Jane. He died at the age of 28 on October 24th, 1860 in Union Parish, LA.1 
‌Levi Thomas and Rebecca A. were married in a religious ceremony on January 8th, 1854 in AL.1 They had a son and three daughters, named Thomas Levi, Rebecca Jane, Susan Victoria and Mary Elizabeth.
