Ernest Crittenden Harding 
Ernest Crittenden was born on September 29th, 1897 in Spotsylvania Co., VA.1 Ernest Crittenden's father was Parmenco Claylos Harding and his mother was Florence C. Gardner. His paternal grandparents were Lewis G. Harding and Elizabeth Jane Yancey. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Phillip, William, McKioley, Theodore R., Robert, Joseph B., Chester R., Marion Gardner, Myrtle Elizabeth and Edmonia. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 75 on December 2nd, 1972 in Spotsylvania Co., VA. He was buried on December 4th, 1972.1 1 General Notes

"Ernest 'Doc' Harding
A funeral service for Ernest Crittenden Harding 80, of Spotsylvania,
who died Friday at his home, will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday at Wheller
and Thompson Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The
Rev. John Gordon will officiate.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Seay of Fredericksburg,
three brothers T. R. Harding of Federicksburg, Joseph B. Harding of
Spotsylvania and Chester R. Harding of Arlington; two sisters, Mrs Myrtle
H. Sullivan and Mrs. Edmonia Conyers both of Spotsylvania; two
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cecil B. Sullivan, Rodney D. Sullivan, Ralph
Bruce, Thomas R. Seay, Douglas W. Seay, and Gary H. Seay.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight at the
funeral home. The family request that expressions of sympathy take the
form of contributions to the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad or the Shady
