She was the daughter of Josias Fugate and Mary Martin. Descendants of
Josias Fugate (d 1757 King George) through his daughter, Ann Fugate, who
married Darby Sullivan appear to have much Indian blood per tradition and
photos.
Josias' grandfather, Thomas Pettis/Pettit, lived on land adjacent to that
of Chief Wahanganoche of the Patawomeck Tribe.
Ann and Darby III were married in a religious ceremony on March 18th, 1757 in Stafford Co., VA.1 They had nine sons and a daughter, named Martin, Jonas, Darby IV, Thomas, Benjamin, Daniel, William, Shady, Francis and Sarah.
