He had two brothers and nine sisters, named John Taylor, Albert Rhett, Sally Cantey, Harriet Chestnut, Mary Singleton, Ellen Sophia, Caroline Cornelia, Harriet Chestnut, Grace Brown, Mary Susan and Rosa Ann.
