Mary Elizabeth Douglas 
Mary Elizabeth was born on August 8th, 1836 in Cumberland County, North Carolina.1 Mary Elizabeth's father was Silas Douglas and her mother was Mary Harrington. Her paternal grandparents were Abel Douglas and Martha ??; her maternal grandparents were Sion Harrington and Ann Dalrymple. She had nine brothers and two sisters, named Abel, John H., James, Silas William, Nathan, Archibald McLendon, Rabon, Sion Brock, Charles Bryant, Martha Anne and Sarah M.. She was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 48 on April 25th, 1885. She was buried in Pollard, Alabama.1 1 
‌Mary Elizabeth and Joseph Carson were married in a religious ceremony on March 10th, 1853.2 They had two sons and five daughters, named David Carson, Rabon Cottrell, Anne Elizabeth, Mattie Easter, Mary Watts, Hattie B. and Josephine.
